UNIVERSITIES SET OWN EDUCATION MODELS

Universities have also started announcing which model they will apply in the 2020-2021 academic year and their timing. Some universities have announced that they will continue to study in a mixed-hybrid education model, and some universities will spend the fall semester online. And also some universities will apply YÖK training systems where 40 % education will be in online and 60 % will be in school.

Which universities will be use which models ?

Universities that announced their decisions:

Bogazici University: Will open on October 22nd. The Fall 2020-21 semester will be held mainly remotely (online), but there will also be face-to-face (classroom) lessons.

Dokuz Eylul University: will be open on October 5. According to YÖK’s decision, some of the lessons will be done face-to-face. Depending on the pandemic’s condition, education system may also be changes.

Ege University: The academic semester will begin on October 26th with a mixed education model where distance and face-to-face education will take place. The school of medicine, nursing, dentistry and foreign languages will determine their own history. In the fall semester of 2020-2021, online-secondary will be made through full distance teaching from preparatory classes. It’s going to be 40 percent from the distance.

Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University: It will start on October 5th with its mixed education model. In the Mixed Education Model in the fall semester of 2020-2021, some courses will be held only with distance education, some lessons are completely face-to-face, and some lessons will be held face-to-face with both distance education (40% face-to-face with distance education).

Yalova University: Education system 60 percent face-to-face and 40 percent will teach from a distance. The academic year starts face-to-face on October 5th. Yalova University plans to reduce the number of students on campuses. Final exams for those studying remotely will be held face-to-face.

Cumhuriyet University: In the 2020-2021 academic year, university explained that education can be done face-to-face, remotely or mixed. The status of the training will be determined according to the pandemic situetion in country. According to the academic calendar, classes will begin on October 12, 2020.

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University: In the fall of 2020-2021, it was decided that all courses in all faculties (excluding medicine and dentistry) should be given through distance education. Master’s classes will be mixed.

Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University: 2020-2021 academic year will provide blended (online and face-to-face) education to be up to 40 percent of courses in the fall semester.

Uskudar University: Decided to conduct classes in the form of “mixed” with full-time and distance education. The academic year for all programs begins on October 12th.

Suleyman Demirel University: In the 2020-2021 academic year, the mixed education method will be implemented in which distance and formal education will be applied together. Education will begin on October 12, 2020.

Istanbul Medeniyet University: In the 2020-2021 academic year, university announced that the education will be done with a mixed-hybrid system.

Bilkent University: have created an infrastructure on the hybrid education system, where lessons can continue both face-to-face and remotely, and applied lessons will be held face-to-face at the university.

Yozgat Bozok University: The new academic year will begin with “mixed education”.

Gebze University: At the senate meeting, university was decided that education should be carried out by distance education in the fall of 2020-2021.

Kocaeli Health and Technology University: 2020-2021 fall will be mixed education. Depending on pandemic status, a decision will be made for the second term. If online education is returned, there will be discounts for these periods.

Erzurum Technical University: 2020-2021 fall semester courses will be held remotely (online) announced.

Cankiri Karatekin University: Courses will start face-to-face and online on October 5. Students can choose models of online or face to face education.

Izmir Institute of Technology: 2020-2021 academic year fall term courses will be held with the distance education system.

Istanbul Bilgi University: In the 2020-2021 academic year, university explained that they have created an infrastructure where students can continue their courses in a distance education and classroom environment according students preferences.
